Education

Education is the primary source for children to keep their life in a safe way. This project provides education material to poor children up to the elementary section. Basic education material required for their studies without any interruption is our goal.

India is a country with more than one billion people, and just one-third of them can read. The rapidly growing size of the population, shortages of teachers, books, and basic facilities, and insufficient public funds to cover education costs are some of the nation’s toughest challenges. This is where Children in India are facing basic challenges. According to a study, more than 30% of educational funds are allocated towards higher education, leaving primary education in India in sway.

India is fourth among the top 10 nations with the highest numbers of out-of-children at the primary level. Furthermore, the rate of school drop-outs amongst students is very high. One of the main reasons behind this is poverty. When earning a livelihood and taking care of the members of the family becomes a primary matter of concern in one’s life, education stands a little or, very often, no chance of pursuance. For the underprivileged people in India, education is perceived as a high-priced luxury, and this negative outlook continues with every new generation.

A disproportionate number of total out-of-school children in India are girls. What denies equal opportunities for children are serious social issues that have arisen out of caste, class and gender differences. The practice of child labour in India and resistance to sending girls to school in several parts of the country remain genuine concerns. If the current trend continues, millions of underprivileged children will probably never set foot in a classroom.

India’s growth relies on a well-educated and skilled workforce. Improving education is a critical area of investment. A shabby foundation in primary education can overturn the lives, careers and productivity of millions of its citizens. Already, a considerable proportion of the adult workforce in India is acutely under-equipped to be eligible for skilled and semi-skilled jobs. In order to build India as a consumer market of global standards, it is very important that every child reaps the benefits of quality education.

Health Support For Poor

Poverty is a major cause of ill health and a barrier to accessing health care when needed. This relationship is financial: the poor cannot afford to purchase those things that are needed for good health, including sufficient quantities of quality food and health care. But, the relationship is also related to other factors related to poverty, such as lack of information on appropriate health-promoting practices or lack of voice needed to make social services work for them. Ill health, in turn, is a major cause of poverty. This is partly due to the costs of seeking health care, which include not only out-of-pocket spending on care (such as consultations, tests and medicine) but also transportation costs and any informal payments to providers. It is also due to the considerable loss of income associated with illness in developing countries, both the breadwinner, but also of family members may be obliged to stop working or attending school to take care of an ill relative. In addition, poor families coping with illness might be forced to sell assets to cover medical expenses, borrow at high-interest rates or become indebted to the community. Strong health systems improve the health status of the whole population, but especially of the poor among whom ill health and poor access to health care tend to be concentrated, as well as protect households from the potentially catastrophic effects of out-of-pocket health care costs. In general, poor health is disproportionately concentrated among the poor.

Sports And Games

While many families are involved in organized sports, lots of kids enjoy something a little less structured. Get ideas for sports games for kids in this article.

Sometimes neighbourhood kids get together spur of the moment to play and don't want to have to organize teams, gather equipment, etc. Other times the number of kids isn't right for a particular game, or sometimes a kid just wants to play by himself or herself.

There are lots of fun sports games for kids that don't require teams or involve lots of equipment. Some of the games below only required a piece of chalk or a rubber ball. Some of the games kids can do on their own or with a large group of other kids. The point is that these games are fun, adaptable to different kids, and skill-building -- kids will improve their throwing, catching, and kicking abilities with these games.

Bore Well

India being an agrarian country, our farmers depend mainly on groundwater for irrigation. With increasing population, lesser land holdings and urbanisation, deeper borewells are dug for groundwater abstraction. Borewells & tube wells are very similar. Both are basically vertically drilled wells, bored into an underground aquifer on the surface of the earth, to extract water for various purposes. The difference between the two lies in the type of casing used, the depth of this casing and the type of soil where they are drilled. Casing to support the external surfaces of the borehole against collapse may be needed at certain depths, and usually is made up of PVC pipes. Electrical pumps are usually used to pump out the water from the borewells, though the government is now giving subsidies for solar pumps. This convenience of pumps may increase the depletion of the groundwater at an increased pace.

Our FAQ on borewells, deals in detail with topics ranging from the initial planning, selection of site to final commissioning, maintenance of the structure and problems associated with existing borewells, Another Frequently asked questions (FAQ) on Groundwater - Understanding the basics, narrows down the existing knowledge gaps amongst the common groundwater users.

Excessive drilling of borewells has led to the exploitation of groundwater at higher rates than the rate of water recharge and caused depletion of the groundwater levels. To monitor this many states like Karnataka & Kerala have come up with laws & a statutory authority to regulate and keep tabs on groundwater utilisation. Some states have implemented groundwater legislation acts which prevent drilling of borewells without the permission of Government Bodies in water-scarce regions. However, some states allow only drilling of drinking water borewells without the need for obtaining permission. Therefore, it is advisable to explore the details of it before drilling a borewell.

Vocational Training

What is vocational training?

Vocational training is the instructional program that prepares you for an occupation that requires a specialised skill, such as a technician, artisan or tradesperson. It may involve imparting classroom instructions, hands-on training or a combination of both. Secondary and higher secondary education in India usually includes one or two vocational subjects. Still, real vocational training is imparted outside the formal education system and it often leads to a certification or a diploma. You may also undergo vocational training directly as an apprentice or a trainee with or without any formal qualification.

Why is vocational training important?

  1. It offers training for specific skills and jobs.
  2. You can undergo vocational training along with or outside the formal education system.
  3. It prepares you to take up a high-paying job or occupation almost immediately.
  4. Undergoing training from a vocational school earns you a certification from an independent organisation, which vouches for your skills and puts you in an advantageous position over informally trained candidates.
  5. It helps you perform your job better.
  6. Since its utility is direct and clear, students often participate more actively than in formal education.
  7. It offers a learning opportunity to those who missed the formal education or those who are not sure whether they should attend a school.
  8. It offers an opportunity to learn the skills of your choice and make a career switch at almost any point in time.
  9. It provides the much-needed skilled manpower to the industry.
